2009-01-12 Journey Fro

DSC07628 Sunrise, once again extremely beautiful. The weather is holding for the next few days. DSC07629 Meanwhile I was packing DSC07630 A last view from my window DSC07635 Stuttgart's station hall. It was cold and we had half an hour to spare so we took a cup of coffee.
DSC07636 The train awaiting, Dieter freezing ;-) DSC07637 IMG 2187 Well, one last shot of me in Allemagna DSC07639 Bye Dieter, Mach's gut
DSC07641 DSC07645 Stuttgart's workshop's. Only now I realized I could have arranged a visit to it..... Stupid! DSC07647 The vineyards we passed everyday on the way home to Kornwestheim DSC07653
DSC07656 Passing Kornwestheim Central DSC07670 Not much of a pace though DSC07671 The landscape was still great to watch and flow by DSC07673 Approaching Mannheim
DSC07677 Between Mannheim and Frankfurt the fog had frozen to the trees with this fairytale result DSC07679 DSC07683 In Frankfurt I had to change trains DSC07682 My train from Stuttgart had some delay but I had about half an hour to spare so no harm done
DSC07687 My train to Köln (Cologne). This train should have consisted of two railcar sets, one for Amsterdam and one for Brussels. But had only one so I was told to take a seat in this one sets and to make an unschduled change to a train to Amsterdam in Köln. Later in the train I was told that this train was going for Amsterdam (and consequently all the passengers for Brussels had to leave the train in Köln). All due to the rolling stock shortages as a result of the axle brake down of one of the IC-E's earlier this year and the following tighter maintenance schedules. DSC07688 Nearing Köln the weather deteriorated. DSC07690 Passing Köln's famous bridge DSC07695
DSC07702 DSC07703 Underway to Amsterdam my car became the leading car, resulting in this nice view on the tracks. DSC07706 DSC07708 In the meantime I was having a good time with the DVD's Dieter gave me
